UPDATE 12/26/2006 -- When Chicago Tribune correspondent Charles Leroux published a profile of Chet Coppock back in April 2006 (see below or click here), Chet was experiencing what he called "downtime": i.e., the phone wasn't ringing with job offers. A few months later, Chet evaluated the impact of the article... "The piece essentially sent out the alert: the fat kid is available. And the fat kid has lost 46 pounds!" Read full Tempo update here!
UPDATE 11/16/2006 -- It's been almost 20 years since Chet Coppock pushed a peanut across the Michigan Avenue Bridge with his nose after losing some dumb sports bet. Well, the big-mouth sportscaster is at it again: But this time, the payoff will involve Coppock parading up and down State Street wearing nothing but a thong under his fur coat, Featured in Robert Ferder's Sun-Times column on 11/16/2006!

UPDATE 4/5/2006 -- Not to long after his departure from Sporting News Radio, Chet Coppock was featured in the Tempo section of the April 5th Chicago Tribune, in a fantastic piece by acclaimed Trib correspondent Charles Leroux. The profile was titles "HAM TO THE BONE: Chet Coppock -- the Mouth of the Midway -- is down but not talked out"... Read it here!

UPDATE 9/9/2003 -- What is this photo??? At first glance, it looks like Chet is auditioning for the role of a private investigator in a 1950s flick. However, it is actually a photo from the 1994 book Great Chicago Stories -- a very cool collection of portraits and stories that profiles sixty of Chicago's most notable figures.
